How to back up and restore the M365 Manager Plus database
It is recommended to take backups before applying service pack in M365 Manager Plus. This helps to prevent accidental loss of data.
Steps to back up M365 Manager Plus database
- Shut down M365 Manager Plus
- If the product runs as an application, click on Start → All Programs → M365 Manager Plus → Stop M365 Manager Plus.
- If the product runs as a Windows service, click on Start → Run → type services.msc → Stop ManageEngine M365 Manager Plus.
- Navigate to the <product installation directory>/bin folder and open Command Prompt as an administrator.
- Run backupdb.bat.
- The contents of M365 Manager Plus database will be saved as a zipped folder OfflineBackup under the folder name backup.
Steps to restore M365 Manager Plus database
Prerequisite: Before proceeding to restore the database, you need the name of the backup file you want to restore. In order to identify the name of the backup file, go to the product_installation_dir/backUp folder. The backup files are stored in this format:
OfflineBackup_yyyymmddhhmmss, where yyyymmdd is the date and hhmmss is the time at which the backup was taken. Make a note of the backup file you want to restore.
