Steps to manage desktops of roaming users' using Desktop Central
Follow the steps given below to manage roaming users' desktops using Desktop Central:
- Configure the NAT settings to ensure that the Desktop Central server is reachable through a public Internet Protocol (IP) address
- Create a remote office in Desktop Central
- Select SoM>Remote Offices
- Click Add Remote Office
- Specify a name of the remote office (for example, Roaming Users)
- Specify your Public IP Address as the Server IP Address
- Select Communication Type as Direct Communication
- Specify the communication interval and select Enable Secured Communication (HTTPS), if you want the communication to be secured
- Click Add
- Install the remote office agent in the roaming users' systems
- Select SoM>Remote Offices
- Download the agent related to the remote office that you have created
- Install the agent in all the roaming users' systems manually
Whenever these roaming users connect to Internet, the agent residing in their computers will contact the Desktop Central server and access the available configurations. The agent will periodically contact the server, based on the communication interval you specified while creating the remote office. The default communication interval is 2 minutes.
You can now manage desktops of roaming users.
